UHURU KENYATTA'S UTTERANCES: USING STORIFY TO AGGREGATE FEEDBACK

Kenya's Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta has come under sharp criticism for what many people think are unsavoury public outbursts that are unbecoming, for a person aspiring to be a national leader. And to help in aggregating feedback on this issue, I've had the privilege of using Storify.

Simply put, the Storify application takes the social media experience to the next level, especially for a journalist or news organization. The functionalities are amazing, when it comes to covering an on-going story or aggregating feedback or reactions to a particular news story.

Getting the official invite and accompanying unlocking key could turn out to be a major turning point in my online journalism experience. And the Uhuru Kenyatta story provides an excellent way to showcase the power of Storify.

Kenyan "leaders" need to learn that it is time to style up. We are tired of them making a mockery of us ( read Wananchi). It is time that they realized Kenyan politics is no longer El-Querpo Del Desoe (Read Soap Opera) ... we what to move our country to greater heights ..... Let them scream and shout about 2012 ...... they dont know that we soon will be asking for their CVs ... ? Itakuwa kama ku-apply job ..... EISH Uhuru!!! We are looking for leaders with the VOICE OF REASON !!!!

Only person I know who is used to such outbursts is Mugabe.Could this be how arrogant he was when young? I should be very afraid if such are our best potential presidents.

Uhuru Kenyatta has just shown what he is made of,lets not scoff at him but let us place him where he belongs come the year 2012. I.e. If his names wl find their way to the ballot papers. Its either we sent him to statehouse or to the the famous Machakos country bus Termini. The latter is more appropriate if u ask me.

Guys, we've got to pray for him. Ni kanisa hua haendi

His comments were disgusting for a leader in high ranks in government. His outbursts a show of how inexperienced he has been and is since the young turk era of 2002.He should be ashamed rocking the table in outburst on tv.TV stations should have warned the public that the footage they were about to view was not recommended for viewers younger than 18 and that bad language and violence would be part of the show!Cannot vote for such if at all voting for young men like me (27 years old) means voting for him.

When vultures and hyenas start gathering then either a kill has happened or is about to happen! But the victims, who are the Kenyan people are elusive. Na watashinda vita hivi!

UK is an irrelevant figure in Kenyan politics! If what i watched on my screen is anything to go by, then i can easily conclude that he is just but a lad who should be given sufficient time to mature b4 running for the top post in the country!!!! these are BOYS who can easily convert State House into a brothel! UK, Hague is the way n we pray that they take you there expeditiously!!!!!!!!!!!11

If you want an angel for a leader go to heaven and fish one.
Uhuru is not speaking anything diffferent than the rest of your leaders in this country. It is only known to be a fact that some newspapers in this country are sponsored by civil societies to be Raila mouthpiece
Some of the comments here displays a high level of hypocricy and double speak

Uhuru is a true Leader and a great one for that matter.Kenyans should not counsel us on how they presume A LEADER TO BE.tHIS IS NOT a christian contest or angelic display.Uhuru Go Go..

Naona Uhuru Kenyatta amekuwa kiboko yao, mwenye uchungu asimpe kura lakini Kenya yetu hatuvalishwa Tai!! kila mtu hutoa matamshi yake uchungu ni-wa-nini? wale wembe

This uhuru kid smokes a lot of weed 'bangi', look at his eyes he looks like a devil on the cross.Boy you need prayers, otherwise go to the hague or to hell.

Kwani naye anafikiria Kenya ni ya baba yake?

Uhuru is a spoilt child who belongs to the..."why don't they eat cake" mindset. He is totally the wrong person to lead a country leave alone a tribe.A people are what their leader is.He is no different from those son of despots running helter skelter in North Africa who have never known that the country does not belong to their fathers. This is a new Kenya we shall not again be ruled by the rod.

Anonymous said...

We often talk of generational change. Are these the kind of leaders we have been talking about? Uhuru cannot lead this country. He has an attitude like that of his father who killed people in numbers whenever they stood their grouds. We Kikuyus should understand that even other tribes can lead this country. Not having a presidential candidate every general election. Lets give other tribes a chance.

Anonymous said...

Uhuru speaks like a killer? Those supporting him are just the Mungiki's. Electing Uhuru will lead this country to chaos. He is going to kill people in numbers. He is too reckless and emotional. These are not qualities of a good leader. he can make a good tribal chief.I dont see any young person who can lead this country. Listen to people like Kuttuny...he behaves like a person who never went to school. Uhuru must go to Hague...he is guilty and his behaviour can tell it all.

i am afraid, like many other kenyans, that we are setting this country on a warpath by our biased reporting and granting people the platform to spew ethnic hatred and incitement.

i do not advocate for blacking out such hate mongering by politician, but i disapprove the manner of subjective and ethnocentric reporting that has become the characteristic of our mainstream media.

perhaps let me ask, how do you rope in communities into these outbursts by uhuru? what does the kikuyu as a community have to do with it?

and perhaps even more telling, why have the media found it prudent to ignore the insults and threats by the prime minister in wagalla? why dont you speak and write as much when he equates people with dogs, when he calls people takataka, inzi and all manner of insults? why do you find it hard to question his commitment to the fight against corruption when he blows hot and cold defending his ministers?

why have the media not found it prudent to kill the Gumo story on Tarda corruption, who got money to spike the story? but maybe the media are soo clean to get entangled in such small things. is'nt it?
of course the media are the best in issues of integrity. they do not collect envelops, they only recruit through merit and they hate corruption!

for the sake of our nation, people of the media, spare this country the slack. please save us from your bias and unprofessionalism. yes, hang uhuru and co. but dont forget that these thieves only became so when they ould not agree with your god,we deserve better. and by affording perverts a platform to ventilate their ethnic vitriol, i can only recommend a nobel for you great people of the media! how great we are to have such an objective responsible media!

The lad called UK has screwed big time ...this is nothing but weed weed weed na karobo mingi. Have you seen those eyes on tele..but thanks goodness Ocampos hammer is on the way!

What Uhuru said is wrong. He deserves all the condemnation that comes his way. But let us not be biased along tribal lines. Let all politicians who do the same regardless of their age or tribe be condemned in equal measure.

I find it so ridiculous for one: fellow man complains about a non circumsized man and yet women have nothing to complain about it in regards to being a man or rather a leader! Two: Now that ones father owned and still owns almost a province in terms of land then thinks someones mother can own a city called hague!!

how did uhuru know kibabi is circumsised?en ruto hata kama ulimpigia rao kura, sasa unataka kupendelewa na makosa umefanya?4get.
